I read the sign
I saw between the lines
but who would believe
the last bank on earth
would hype its product
this way?

Smoke still rises
from the rubble
crispy humans naked
bacon strips in a skillet
tormented poor souls
broken demented broke souls
ripe for salvation
or a savings plan.

Is it past time
to get down
to get down to business?

Savers are no longer offered
a spiritual plan
Salvation?
Save yourself.
I can only remember
what that naked screaming muse
no saint she
told me
she said,
"My son, money will reckon your soul."

Jesus saves
but I never do.
