Aching
(5-8-99)
by David B. Rhaesa

I woke up a little while ago
In the middle of the night
Just aching to be with you.
It was unbelievable the wishing
Through my whole body
To have you near me
Caressing me and vice versa.

What brought this on?
I wonder what I’d dreamed
Then I moved a little
And I ached
And it was my muscles
From my first two days
At the gym
(where nobody has laughed at me yet)
That brought the pain.

And I laughed out loud
Because while I do miss being with you often
On this night I think I just need an Advil.
I’ll take one and go for a drive.
A beautiful night for a drive.
