The same and beautifully different
(5-4-99)
by David B. Rhaesa

Outside is a place where the living happens
And where the plastic can appear
Inside is where the feelings come from
Inside Outside
The feelings surpass the plastic
I can’t run too far inside the interior
Or all the living happens
Somewhere and Somewhen
That I am not.

Cortez the Killer
Welded to my memory
From the Canadian troubador
With amplification
That makes
The auditory become visual.

I can see the sounds
Of the White Boat that comes up the River
And I can feel
The inspiration
The vision
Of that Canadian
Who I used to pay attention to
But lately have ignored

Neil how are you tonight?
I hope that you’re living
With feeling and love for every
Place that we all are
These days.
Each one of those days seems the same
Only beautifully different.
