Your Mother’s Heart
(4-25-99)
by David B. Rhaesa

You saw me
You ran to me
and hugged my legs
and held on tight

It felt so good
You just can’t know
To feel your hug
To know you remembered me
To know you liked me still
My heart melted inside and out

I care about you so much
More than appropriate sometimes
Perhaps
But I do care so much anyway
and will always

You have your mother’s eyes
and her heart
Thanks for sharing it with me.
