-I found an angel
laying face up in my living room Who protects me and saves me and toils endlessly to decorate linear time Who gives me moments of Raw Emotion Who carves its name on the Sacred Temple of Life this angel who lurks in the smokey Bars & twisted minds I've seen Pete windmill you into existence angle I've heard Monk force you into Bright non-secquitor phrases I've watched Katelyn harmonize you with new found Magic And you laid there happy on the living room floor Waiting to possess Me and Plant in me an addiction a NEED WHY Why do I wake up Sky and expanding Pit of night and crawl blind to your side Why do I need to Fail and fail and Win & smile again and again For you or for me it seems 'Cause could you loose one timeless beat if I lost you Could you feel the empty space I would leave OR Would you just issue in the next bright eyed youngster into my place You are a Demon of Light I will never leave you And you had them all, you sweet Captain you Held Bach as he tamed the Mighty Pipes as Stravinsky shot angular, power and Fear into the night as Dylan Wondered and Pondered as Charlie Parker spun webs of intricate musical ideas into Food for any Man as I walked innocently into my living room one Spring Morning |
